Leah Tehrani and Anthony Caputo Headline Enrico Caruso Room Tonight, 7/31

Soprano Leah Tehrani and tenor Anthony Caputo will perform at the Enrico Caruso Room tonight, July 31, at 8 PM as part of the venue's Tuesday Night Opera Series. They will be supported on keyboard by David Schaefer.

Dinner is available from 7 PM. There is a $20 cover charge and no food or drink minimum. The Enrico Caruso Room (www.enricocarusoroomnyc.com) is located in Grotta Azzurra Ristorante at 177 Mulberry Street in Little Italy. Reservations are suggested by calling Grotta Azzurra at 212-925-8775.

A native of Toronto, Leah Tehrani moved to New York City to pursue her singing career. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, has graduated from the Internship Affiliate Program at Broadway Dance Center, and was a student at The Juilliard School. She also completed her studies at Mannes College of Music.

Leah has performed on numerous occasions with the New York Grand Opera, including Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera at Central Park's Summer Stage and Verdi's Requiem at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Maestro Vincent La Selva, with whom she has also studied privately. Leah has also played the role of Cassie in A Chorus Line at the Colleen Dewhurst Theater in Mt. Kisco New York. She studied opera in Siena, Italy, at the Senese Per La Musica.

Leah Tehrani is also the Soprano and Artistic Director at New York City's Metropolitan Synagogue where she sings at the synagogue's weekly services, special events and on the holidays. As a result of her classical background, Leah is adept at singing in many different languages including English, French. German and Italian. as well as in Farsi, Yiddish and Ladino.

Leah also dedicates a great deal of her time to what she regards as a very important mission: Performing fund raising concerts across North America as a soloist raising thousands of dollars for victims of suicide terrorist attacks in Israel, most recently headlining a concert for Magen David Adom in Toronto, Canada. She has performed with the Folksbiene Yiddish Theater in New York City and was featured as a soloist under the direction of Zalmen Mlotek. She also is a member of a trio called Ashirawhich tours North America, performing both secular and non-secular music and services. Leah recently performed her first cabaret show My Life in Music before a sold-out audience at the Laurie Beechman Theater in Manhattan. She also recently joined the NY Friars Club.
