Katarina Dalayman will sing the role of Brünnhilde in this evening's performance of Wagner's Siegfried, replacing Deborah Voigt, who is ill.
Dalayman sang her first Siegfried Brünnhilde at the Met on April 30 and has also sung the role in Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung in the current season. She made her Met debut as Brangäne in Wagner's Tristan und Isolde in 1999. Her Met repertory also includes the Duchess of Parma in Busoni's Doktor Faust, Lisa in Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades, Isolde in Tristan und Isolde, Sieglinde in Die Walküre, and Marie in Berg's Wozzeck.
Siegfried, conducted by Derrick Inouye, also stars Patricia Bardon as Erda, Stephen Gould as Siegfried, Robert Brubaker as Mime, Bryn Terfel as the Wanderer, and Richard Paul Fink as Alberich.
