Chicago Opera Theater (COT) will hold its first-ever subscription raffle in honor of National Opera Week. The raffle offers subscribers who purchase their tickets between October 29th and November 5th a chance to be upgraded to prime seats for General Director Andreas Mitisek's not-to-be-missed inaugural 2013 Season.
To be eligible for entry, subscribers must purchase their 2013 Season subscriptions in the B, C, or D sections between Monday, October 29th and end of business on Monday, November 5th. Subscribers will then be automatically entered into a drawing for an upgrade to seats in the A section.
The 2013 Season – POWER OF LOVE, LOVE OF POWER will bring an entirely new kind of opera to COT patrons. It opens in February of 2013 with the Chicago Premiere of Philip Glass' The Fall of the House of Usher, followed by Ástor Piazzolla's María de Buenos Aires in April, and concluding in September with another Chicago Premiere, Giuseppe Verdi's Joan of Arc (Giovanna d'Arco). Performances will take place in the Harris Theater in Millennium Park.
The 2013 season marks a new chapter in COT's history, and will introduce Chicago Opera-goers to a new opera experience that is outside the box, provocative, engaging, relevant, and adventurous.
"Our participation in National Opera Week is one of the many ways we are making opera more immediate and relevant for Chicagoans," said Andreas Mitisek. "Opera should be surprising and arresting, and we want to give our patrons front-row seats, so to speak."
Subscriptions may be purchased at the Chicago Opera Theater box office online at ChicagoOperaTheater.org, and by phone at 312.704.8414.
