Atlanta Opera to Open 2012-13 Season with Bizet's CARMEN, 11/10

Spend your Sunday at Atlanta's Victorian fall festival at the historic Oakland Cemetery, October 7th from 12:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m.. Sponsored by the Historic Oakland Foundation, SUNDAY IN THE Park offers food, music, artist markets, fun activities and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy! Guests are also encouraged to participate in Victorian costume and photography contests. While entry is free, a suggested $5 donation is recommended.

On Saturday, October 13th, from 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m, the High Museum of Art will be hosting a one-night-only pop-up extravaganza! During this evening of surprises happening all over the Museum, Atlanta dancers, actors, singers, and designers will be showcasing what has inspired them in an installation called Fast Forward: Modern Moments 1913>>2013. Special guests include, The Atlanta Opera, The ALLIANCE THEATRE, Bent Frequency and Forward Fashion Show-featuring local designers.

Carter Joseph's popular Evening at Emory class will explore how the opera Carmen would earn its place as one of the world's most beloved works. On November 13, the class will attend the Atlanta Opera's production of this masterpiece.
